Cake Pillars and Dowels
When creating a tiered cake it is important that it is constructed correctly to help prevent it from sagging and collapsing. Part of this process is Dowling, this is when rods or dowels are inserted into the cake to create a support for a cakeboard, which in turn creates a stable support for the tier above.
